They also raised the Alex storage units from 80 to 100 before discounting it back down to 85

I think this topic has being coming out a lot recently but remember that prices have being going up due to US trade wars with the rest of the world. Although its not a direct impact, remember if US import less goods from china , the cost will go up for us too since a lot of companies will ship from china to US then to Canada. Consideing a lot of Ikeas goods actually come from/made in china, this would actually have an impact on a lot of their goods.

In the past, most ikea products dont actually go up before their sales (at least products i looked at, which was just bedframes, shelves, etc). So im willing to give them the benefit of the doubt unless someone has concrete info about past sales too (not just right now when a lot of items happen to be increasing in price).

I bought the Alex drawer unit over a week ago and they were 99 then.
They didn't raise the price just to discount it for this sale. (unless they planned it well in advance)

Ikea does raise the prices for some items time to time. They have too many printed catalogues and printed flyers to do this type of fluctuating pricing (too easy to get evidence).

Sadly, they could be raising their prices too as the cost of everything is increasing. 2018 is the year of restaurant closures and increased cost of goods, at least for where I'm living anyways.

They're the cheap guy for reasonable products, which makes them seem like the good guy.

what's the next best inexpensive furniture store? Ikea stuff looks good and is reasonably constructed. Too bad.

I was going to buy a tv stand, bookcase, file cabinet, and possibly another night table.

They do price adjustments? Bought 2 Alex units 3 weeks ago and they were $99.

You didn't miss it. It's quite a bit aways from now. About 50 weeks.

They do. Just bring receipt in. Price protection is 30 days. If you get Ikea family card (free) then price protection is 3 months.
