Ikea No tax event Nov 22-25 - Quebec Only...i think
Hey guys,
Saw in the Montreal Gazette today that Ikea is having a save the tax event for instore purchases.
Add says Quebec only

That would be a first. Usually you see "excluding Quebec" on most sales and contests.

In addition, IKEA is only charging 5% GST here in the Alberta stores. I don't know if this is Canada wide.

well, it's about time montreal gets some love.. both on the no tax front and we now have wacky weds deals too!

i just moved... none of my boxes are unpacked b/c i'm waiting to buy furnitures!!

Considering IKEA is one of the worst retailers when it comes to CDN-US price disparity, this is a welcome event.
The couch I bought during the last no tax event sells for $1498. The same couch at IKEA USA is $949. They actually give you a bit more than the tax off during these events, so I paid $1470.

Geez you're right, I just check a leather POANG chair I was looking to buy, 199 CAD 139 US. I'll pick it up the next time i'm in Atlanta. Even the no tax event does not make it close.

Saw a sign at the Vaughan, ON Ikea two weeks ago stating that they had "lowered prices" as well as reduced GST to 5% effective immediately. I believe that is nationwide.
