Just make it so she has only 1 of the camera at the end(maybe return yours). Since she doesn't know how to use it, you'll probably end up using it more anyway.

I'm in a dilemna here kids - need advice
Ok, I have a 3 month old niece who is the most precious thing in the world. Everyone in my family has cameras except my mom and I, up until last week, she bought me a digicam which costed $400 because she wanted to take pics of the baby. Now heres the thing. My sisters called me today asking if mom wanted a digicam for mothers day. I said well I know she wants one, but I couldnt tell them that I just bought one, even worse MOM bought it for me! Because if they found out mom bought me this camera, they would kill me, knowing she wants one. But she doesnt know how to take pics, so she just gets me to take them. And the fact that I am not working at this time, going out and spending $400 on a camera isnt the wisest move. So, here my sisters are going to buy the exact same camera that I have right now LOL for mom. What should I do? I think the wisest move would be to, for my sisters and I with me pitching in most of the $ to get mom the camera, and return this one, so she gets her credit back on her credit card, because simply we have no use for 2 cameras, let alone 2 of the exact same model! So buy mom this cam (dont even tell sisters I even bought one), and just use moms cam, since she will be getting me to take the pics anyways. its not like if I wanna take it out for a day to use it, she wont let me. But I know she wants one.

Stop supporting monopolistic companies like Bell and Rogers if you want positive change in the Canadian telecommunications industry.

May 4th, 2005 04:22 PM #3Exactly, and thats why I think it would be best to refund this one we have now and use the one sisters and i are getting her on Sun - itll be the same one anyways haha. Just that itll be paid for and she doesnt have anything on her card.

So I mean if it means free camera that mom and I get to have and is a higher up model from the one we have now, then its all worth the trip back to the store refunding this one. haha well I shouldnt say its free, because its not, but at least this way mom wont have $375 on her card, because it will all be paid for. Not that 4MP is a ton better than 3.2, but for larger prints you never know.

huh? But if your mom bought you the camera and your going to return it, won't she find out that you returned it?
Are you trying to hide it and surprise her by buying her a new camera?
Won't she realize the camera you got your mom is the same kinda camera she bought you?

Tell your sisters to get your mom something else. Honestly you don't need two similar cameras in the same family.

May 4th, 2005 08:56 PM #11Actually I told my mom that sisters were planning on getting her the same cam Sunday and she said ok, and that we could just return the one we have now. Its not that she doesnt want me to keep it, just no point "right now" having 2 cameras period. Too much $ invested sitting there, when we have much more important things to pay off. She doesnt attend any events or go out really and when we do, its not a big deal using the same camera - if anything she prefers that since it pretty much will be used by myself and she just wants the pics in her photo album hehe. Having 2 cameras would be very greedy and selfish of me.

Tell your sisters, and say that your mom bought it for the family.
Then tell your sisters and you to buy some roses or go out for a good dinner for mothers day.
Everyones happy.
