$200/month is not that high...well..it also depends on what kind of car u drive and where u live...my dad...who has a prefect record for the last 12 years and he is 52 years old...he still have to pay $180 for the Avalon and $120 for the Corolla...we are in Toronto btw...
my 22 years old friend with a coupe Mustang on the other hand...pays $800 per month...now...that's HIGH

Yes, it depends VERY MUCH on your car type, go for a "sedan" and don't switch car every year.

oh ya also
my last "Claim" was when i put my car in the ditch, in the winter 2000
i called the insurance, to let them know i went into a ditch
and a tow truck had to pull it out.
Car ran fine, snow cushioned the impact.
NO claim was made.
but its on my record now.
so that bumped me up into the high risk.
Then my insurance company goes out of bizness (prudential)
right before i tried to fight it.
been paying for it ever since.

200/month is not high risk at all, not even close.
claims get wiped off our record after 7yrs. so if you reported you in a ditch...i'm guessing 2007 is when ur record will clear.

Even with a "perfect" driving record, I'd imagine you'll find the STI a little higher than $200/month. A few years ago the WRX was the most stolen car in Canada, hence it had one of the highest insurance rates. Don't know what the current stats are now though.
Sure is a sweet car though (I dream of owning one some day)
