Not bad for its price, 9/16/2005

Got this bt device with purchase of my new laptop. I Plug-in and connect to my USB port and my laptop easily install the built-in MS device driver. You can enchanced the driver/application for this Bt by installing that included software. Be, careful not to drop it, its quite sensitive and easily broken. Can links up 7 devices at the same time within 65ft, not bad for a close range connection. Overall, this Bt device is good for personal use and not bad for its price.
it appears that it should auto install it. if anything try the manufacturers website for drivers maybe

Installing bluetooth adaptor
Just got a bluetooth adaptor for Christmas (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...19&catid=19997). Stick it into a USB port, Windows detects it and wants to install software (the common thing whenever new hardware is added).
The problem is that Windows does not find any drivers for it (tried both on my Win2K laptop, and WinXP Pro SP2 desktop)..
The error message is (from my WinXP machine):
"The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software"
The adaptor didn't come with any installation CD..
Any ideas on what I need to do?_______________
So long. I'm outta here.

Doesn't work for me.. no software included at all! I've opened a support ticket with Kensington..
Installation of the bluetooth adaptor on my computer fails.
Steps taken:
1) Attempt to install via found new hardware wizard - this fails, saying the device was not installed.
2) I attempted to follow the instructions for installing the software (the adaptor did not come with an installation CD) from the "Software for Bluetooth USB Adapters" topic on the support website. I used the file KensingtonBTW 4.0.1.2400.zip.
3) Installed the software, and rebooted.
4) Inserted adaptor into USB port - found new hardware wizard comes up, and again fails.
5) Attempt to follow instructions from the "XP Hardware wizard error when installing BlueTooth dongle" help topic on the support website.
I attempted both solution 1 and solution 2, with the same results (the USB device did not appear under "Universal serial bus controllers" as indicated for solution 1, but instead under "other devices").
After selecting "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" in the Hardware Update wizard, I come to a page entitled "Hardware type", which does not contain "MSI USB Bluetooth device" - the closest options available are:
Bluetooth devices
Bluetooth radios
When I select either, the next page says "Unable to find any drivers for this device", and I cannot continue.
Note: On subsequent attempts to connect the adaptor, the "USB Device" shows up under "Bluetooth radios" instead of "other devices"_______________
So long. I'm outta here.

I get that problem too (with other BT dongle)
man, those are annoying. No drivers and XP doesn't detect it either (tried it on 3 laptops and 1 desktop, NONE worked)
