Insurance - Drivers abstract?

When insurance companies pull your drivers abstract, what can they see? According to the MTO website, it is 3 years. Many insurance brokers say 5, 6, or even 10 years.

If I pull my 3 year abstract from MTO, is this exactly what the insurance companies see?

Any idea on what the insurance companies can see?

Im an insurance broker and when we pull drivers history we see only 3 years for convictions. However, autoplus shows us back from the day you first started driving, and it shows us accident history along with all insurance policies youve ever held or been on!

Does autoplus include past tickets or license suspensions?

Weird. Why do insurance companies ask me for past 6 years of tickets and suspensions?

Autoplus will show history since the 1980s...I believe since 1989.
It will show some information of your convictions - hard to explain but it does show some information but not the details.

Driver abstract = convictions / suspensions - we will only see the past 3 years for convictions with the details.

Brokers and insurance companies can only see past 3 years on a drivers abstract.
We can see your life history however, on an autoplus(claims history) that we or the company pulls..those are not available through the MTO/service ontario.
