If this is your only vehicle, what your Broker should have advised or recommended to you was to suspend coverage on your vehicle if it is to be laid up for a min 45 days, then when you're ready to place the road coverage back on, to reinstate coverage. When you do this process, the monthly payments will remain the same until you reinstate coverage back onto your car. When the coverage is back on, you will receive a credit for the time the coverage was suspended. The advantage of O.P.C.F. 16 over the normal deletion of coverage is that the policy continues to provide certain Third Party Liability, Accident Benefits and Uninsured Automobile coverage while the described automobile is in storage.
Call your Broker and discuss this option with them.
