Insurance question for a transferred car

Hi,
So I have to get the car ownership transferred from my friend to myself. For some reason, he cannot cancel his insurance, he already paid or has to be present in person to cancel it or something which isn't possible for him right now.
So, is there a way OR can I drive under his insurance so that his already paid months don't go to waste?

Thanks!

Vehicle and ownership remains with your friend, yes you can drive the vehicle and the coverage will be on his insurance.
If you transfer the vehicle over, no, you'll need your own insurance policy.

if your friend wants to cancel his insurance, his Broker can email him a cancellation form to sign or he can sign the cancellation agreement on the auto policy and fax/em to his broker.
