Those price cuts are hardly even worth mentioning.

+1. Have you noticed Intel has been slowly pushing back release dates. Why waste R&D dollars unnecessarily pushing out new chips when there's no competition. On the other hand AMD realizes that the mass market is moving away from extremely powerful cpu's since web browsing, media playback, spreadsheeting/word processing only require lowly dual cores.

They shoulda called it BullDozed, cause that's what will happen to the AMD Bulldozer chips when Intel counters

P.S.: To all the people above moaning about lack of new chips etc.
Ask yourself: Do you need a faster/stronger chip? I've got a 3 year old Core i7 920, and I feel like I'm at the top of the world still (or at least high up there), it does everything I throw at it, with juice to spare! I don't even think AMD has anything on the market to counter my 3 year old chip! They didn't back then when I bought it, and I doubt they do now, even with a 3 year delay.
So why would R&D need to be spent to improve a product that's already top of the line?
Just pick these babies up and don't look back
Remember computing power doubles every 18 months, but I doubt you need the added power for tasks every 18 months.
