New route from a Mexican airline from Montreal to Mexico City, one way around $180 CAD in July as posted on the Mexican deals site https://www.promodescuentos.com/ofertas ... cto-100949

Most people interested in Mexico will of course travel to beaches (Cancun, Cabo, Vallarta) but for those going to the capital, this is a great price. I would consider this airline to have the best customer service in Mexico (for airlines standards that of course seem to have a very low bar), started as low cost but they actually ended up trying to differentiate with quality and services so they have (pr had at least) a generous baggage allowance which used 2 be to 25KG bags on international flights, free booze and more importantly: bigger space between seat rows.

Airline travels mostly withing Mexico so maybe there are good options connecting to other cities but did not check.

It says "one way around $180" does that mean it's one way? or round trip?

Route has been added to Google Flights. 2:50am arrival time is terrible though.

When searching for round trip, keep in mind they don't fly every day. If you are mix and matching, keep in mind Spirit can get you to Toluca from Plattsburgh via FLL. I've also seen deals to Puebla on US based airlines.

This is a good deal. Canadians only fly to Mexico to get gunned/knifed down in nightclubs. No need for a return ticket.

If Aeromexico are still doing their cheap deals to various destinations then this might be a decent deal as this is their main hub. I had 3 out of 4 decent flights with Aeromexico, the 4th bad one was because they refused to turn the heat down on a return red-eye flight to Canada and I got a free sauna instead.
