internet connection problem
Here is the layout:
bell sympatico - with linksys router (wifi).
Computer (one with windows XP, one with windows 2000) - both using ethernet cable - NO WIFI
The problem is, the router always needs to be reset because the computers cannot get internet access. IS there anything I about this?
Note - i have changed the router 2x already and always have this problem with each router. Please help!
My other thinking is - will rogers internet solve the problem? with bell, you always have this username/password to "dial" in.

hello,
Do you know the exact model of the Router you have? Also are you running any type of Torrent/p2p program? the reason I ask is I had the exact same problem which was caused by to many connections caused by the torrents so it would cause the router to reset.
I fixed this issue by flashing the router with an 3rd Party Firmware which fixed the problem and I no longer have this problem.
Also changing from Bell to Rogers wont change anything since it sounds like its a Router issue. Have you tried removing the Router and just connect to the DSL Modem to see if the problem goes away.
Let me know if you need any more help.
Ciao

I used DD-WRT
http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php
But it only works on Certain Models of routers so you have to check for that. Also you could have gotten any model even if it was 6 months ago. The one I'm using is WRT54GL or something similar, The important part is the last 2 letters GL - the L stands for Linux because this certain model can be moded and supports many diff features & is very stable.
I have installed some for a few of my clients with this firmware update and have yet to have any problems.
