Invisible Braces!

Does anyone have any experience with any of these invisible braces? I've found two through googling so far, one is the metal ones, but placed behind your teeth

The other is some sort of plastic retainer, you go through a bunch of different ones which slowly change your teeth

Any experiences with them? I would like to straighten my teeth but no way I want to get braces on the outside at 25 years old.

My biggest worries with the first option shown above would be impact on speech - lisping like crazy I would imagine for quite some time.

Most, if not all, orthodontists offer free consultations. Go see a couple and see what your options are. There are many options now, including traditional braces that are nearly invisible thanks to clear brackets and wires. Invisalign (the trays) are around double the cost of traditional braces and treatment takes longer. There is more to orthodontic treatment then just braces but you won't know until you see an orthodontist to get an assessment.

I just had my wisdom teeth yanked but maybe I'll call my dentist now to get a referral for 3 weeks from now or something.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with these, maybe there are some cons which outweigh the benefits.

I'll also contact my dental insurance to see if it's covered (Great West Life)

I think Invisalign is limiting as to much it can correct your teeth. Kind of a rip considering how expensive they are.

The one behind your teeth I think requires somebody who specializes in that. I don't even think they do that much anymore due to the problems with it. It takes longer, is more expensive, cuts up your tongue, and causes speech problem.

You should go to an orthodontist and see what options there are. Also, a lot of older people are getting regular braces. You can even get the ones that aren't metallic and noticable.

Tom Cruise had them and he's the epitome of cool.

Lol thanks. Maybe it's just me but I think it looks horrible

My teeth aren't too bad - mainly the lower teeth are a bit crowded up front. My tops are relatively straight.

Just found out I'm covered up to 2500$ at 50%, which kinda sucks. If it's 2 grand for braces I'm out a grand!

Be thankful you have any orthodontic coverage at all enko. Most companies and plans have already or have plans to drop it all together. The good news is that most orthodontists offer interest free financing.

Just make sure that you ask around for recommendations from friends and family then have consultations with at least 2 or 3 orthodontists. Prices can vary wildly between individual orthos. Also take into account the office location as you will be making many visits.
