I took my brother's 4S and it's unable to check for update.

My iPhone 5 phone hasn't been able to checking the update - and what I mean by this is that it'll continually check until no end. I'm trying to restore (since I'm jailbroken) and hope I'll able able to update soon. Good they incorporated those toggles because it was the reason I jailbroke my phone in the first place!

BTW, I find it curious that iTunes 11.1 isn't available yet, because although you can install iOS 7 with 11.05, you can't actually sync with iTunes unless you have 11.1.

The reviews on the 4S are that it's great, and I can confirm that it's great on the iPad 2 (which is the same CPU, albeit faster clocked).
I read that 11.1 is out.

It took a few more attempts checking...

Now downloading...very slowly, 18 minutes.

I was able to update itunes 11.1 by going to apple.ca (would allow me to update within iTunes), but it still states that iOS 6.1.4 is up to date.

Basically confirms worst fears. I won't be updating anytime soon. A pretty poor update from Apple, I would say worse than the iOS 6 update, which was pretty bad itself.
I see anything negative about the review?

iOS7 is basically a UI design refresh which is what is reflected in the review. Don't expect performance upgrades (usually comes from hardware) or features (already explained like months ago).

Hmmm... The Gold Master for iOS 7.0 for most of the devices is actually 11A470a and NOT 11A465. Those of you on the "Gold Master" already probably are on a slightly older version, 11A465, which what the 5C and 5S shipped with.

Also, iOS 7.0.1 is out for the 5C and 5S. It is 11A466.

Also, if you check Software Update on a 11A465 device that isn't a 5S or 5C, it says it's up to date. Oh well, whatever.

My iPhone 5 was installed with the Gold Master build and in my settings > general > about it's the 11A465 build. Just curious where did you get the info on build 11A470a build?

Edit: it looks like iOS 7 for the new iPhone 5C/S would be iOS version 7.0.1 which is build 11A470a. Source

I wonder if there will be two separate builds for 64bit vs 32bit devices.

Macrumors.com says it's 11A470a for everyone except the 5C/5S.

For the 5C/5S they shipped with 11A465, but the 7.0.1 update brings it to 11A466 for both.

http://www.macrumors.com/2013/09/18/app ... -and-more/

Doesn't really matter though since I think you can just download the 11A470a file and click the Update button in iTunes while holding down the Option key to force an update from a downloaded file. Assuming it allows it though. I'm not keen on forcing a full wipe and restore.

Installed iOS 7 on an iPhone 4 and it runs decent for such old hardware.
