Iphone 4 reception on Rogers in London, ON
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy an iphone 4 but am worried about the reception in London Ontario. I live in the toronto area but go to university in London. I have been reading alot about the new iphone and many people state that the antenna issues are the worst in areas with a weak signal.
About 5 days ago i got my first iphone 4. However, i returned it yesterday due to extensive problems I had with the phone. I was constantly getting no service or 1 bar which would cut my access to the internet. After talking to many people, I realized that i must have had a bad phone so i decided to return it.
I want to pick one up before I go to london in 2 weeks. However, I do not know about the service offered out there. I used my 3g there last year but that was a very trustworthy phone and very rarely did I have to worry about signal issues.
Does anyone here from london ontario care to share their experience about the rogers network on the iphone 4 down there. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

hey I'm not from London Ontario but I did also have a 3G not so long ago. My room is quite insulated so I get pretty poor reception. I had a Samsung slide phone in the past and it never got any bars in my room. The 3G got about 2-3 bars and as far as I can tell, the i4 gets the same number of bars in my room. The poor reception part pertains only to times where you cover the bottom left part of the phone. When I tried this, my friend couldn't hear me on the other end but I heard her fine. When you take your finger or palm off that area, the conversation miraculously resumes. I hope this helps a bit.

I'm not surprised. All the Samsungs I've had-had embarassing RF. I haven't tried any 3G Sammies, so I cannot in all fairness speak to latest gen models...someone prove me wrong and sell me on trying one out sometime.

Yes this is what is known as the infamous antennagate. Try putting on the free bumper you get from Apple and see if that helps or maybe use a bluetooth device? If anything, there are always duct tapes available at most retail places.

Not and iPhone4 but I use a x10 and live in London always have a 3g signal and always 4 bars where i live and around town, unless in certain grocery stores. I know not really what you were looking but i would say service is great in London.

I'm more specifically looking for experiences with people who have an iphone 4 in london due to the known "signal issues" it has.
Since this will be my main phone and i will not have access to a landline, it is imperative for me to know this phone can be reliable in london.
