iPhone 5 Model here in Canada won't work in Asia?

http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

Does this mean that if i buy a phone here in Canada, if I move to another country (for ex. Hong Kong) with a different network band, I won't be able to use my iPhone5?
Can somebody help me understand? I have family members asking me to buy unlocked phone here and will be using it outside of Canada.

The difference being that the unlocked GSM model (A1428) works on all 3G frequencies but only on LTE bands 4 and 17.

You will be able to use 3G in Hong Kong and internationally, but you will not be able to access LTE over there.

The Hong Kong/Asia version of the phone (A1429) will work on LTE bands 1, 3, and 5, and so consequently will NOT work on LTE networks in North America.

All phones however work on 3G networks globally

You family members are better off buying it from Hong Kong, despite it costing more or having to wait a long time to get it in order to make use of the LTE network over there

So you mean on the regular network it should work without any issues correct? No need to be on the lte network for my mom as I don't expect her to be needing it. Also what about warranty,.it should still be covered globally?

Yes, it is a quad band GSM so it will work on 3G globally.
Also, Apple's warranty is international

Becareful with the iphone "international" warranty in HK. They don't honor it.

A genius advised me if I want Applecare+ I have to buy it in the same country where I purchased the iPhone, that's the only way. But with regards to Applecare+ warranty claims it is international.
