iPhone 6 (not 's') at theMobileShop (Koodo)

On the 'themobileshop.ca' website, it shows the iPhone 6 on Koodo for $0 and up to 200,000 PC points. On the Koodo website, the price is $485 with a $125 activation credit when signing up for 2 years, and $360 goes on the tab. If I go to 'themobileshop' to sign up for Koodo, I will receive the 200,000 PC points and the $125 activation credit, right?

iPhone 6 on iOS 11:
I've heard that the iPhone 6 is slow when updated to iOS 11. Can anyone tell me what their experiences with an iPhone 6 running iOS 11 have been like. The kid is pining for their first phone, but I'm hesitant to spend too much since it may end up broken or lost - I've been told that it's iPhone or bust, *eyeroll*, so trying to get a decent looking (according to the kid) iPhone for as cheap as possible.

The price is whatever is shown on the website. If it says 0, its 0. But, to keep 200K PC points you may have to stay with Koodo for 3 months. You can self-refer (or get a referral) to minimize the cost, be careful to cancel immediately as that will make the cost of the phone too much.

Also, at this point iPhone 6 is too slow, especially on iOS 11 like you said. If I was you, I would wait for BF/BD for iPhone 6S/7 deals as they are far better phones. I am looking to get my wife the iPhone 7 too.

I've been using the iphone 6 on ios 11 and pretty happy so far, no slowdown that i noticed. I'm not a power user so factor that in

currently using ios 11 on the 6. I can definitely say the phone has slowed down in terms of opening apps and sometimes keyboard delays as well. I would say get the 7 at minimum.

The update is to slowdown previous model, so if you get irritate on your phone you gonna move on the next iPhone.

Don’t get anything less than a 6s in 2017, unless it is dirt cheap.

Not anymore. But if you serve TMS a clawback, they'll deny you phones in the future.

It is dirt cheap. Here's the math on a 90 day, assuming $25 referral credit, go on seasonal hold one month in, activate in ON/BC, then switch to an AB #, also $15 for the sim card (not sure if they increased it yet)
15*1.13+(40+15+15)*1.05+360*1.05-25-200
-----
$243.45

If on B/F they do bonus $100 in PC points, your iPhone 6 costs $143.45.

Unlocked remotely on December 1st, and 1 yr warranty to your name. What better deal is there than that?

Remote unlocking is cancelled however you will still get your phone unlocked for free.
Also, seasonal hold is YMMV.

Article on MobileSyrup.

My understanding is that all iPhones activated this month are unlocked anyway. Despite this, an update will be pushed to unlock all older iPhones remotely.

Yes, seasonal hold is YMMV, but I've been getting it on each Koodo line within asking up to three times.

Read the update on the article.
Update 02/11/17: Carrier sources tell MobileSyrup that while an over-the-air update was initially planned for unlocking iPhones, that plan is no longer going forward.

Oh wow. I guess we'll only know how it plays out in December.

That's a good question. I used to, as it usually meant getting the referral credits sooner, but I think now it doesn't matter as my impression is that Koodo usually gives the referral credits on week 6-8 post-activation. If you're going to switch to the AB number within a few days of activation, might as well input the AB number to complete the referral offer (unless it means missing the promo end date for doubled referral credits).

Have the 6s 64GB running on iOS 11.1.2. No issues. For me much faster than iOS 10.3.3. Battery does drain a bit faster tho... but that seems to be typical across all iphones except the X.
If the glove don't fit you must acquit! #WINNING
