It also doesn't seem to matter if the 3g is selected on or off data still shows up as being sent

I just noticed the same problem, I updated my software 2 days ago and i'm at 800kb sent. I'll call fido to double check...but from the looks of things, everything still should be blocked (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/i...ts-not-795985/)

Fido Data Block Mystery
I have been having the same problem here is my story
I have had one Fido iphone 3G for the last 10 months with a data block and so my sent and received data had been 0 since then.. well up until today
I bought another iphone 3G off a friend and activated on an additional account I have with FIDO.. I noticed that even with the blocking data my newer 3G was still sending and receiving wireless data. So the fido CSR checked to see if both my accounts had a data block and he updated my blocks for my perfectly working 3G and my new one.
RESULT -> both phones are now sending and receiving data even though they are blocked! (even when I'm not using the phone).
Whats even weird is my Tethering Data now says received 1.0kb I dont even know what thethering is.
Fido assured me to disregard this and there wont be any charges. any thoughts?

iPhone 3G running 3.0.1, my Cellular Network Data still says "0 bytes" Sent and Received, but after reading your experience and this thread, I decided to turn off Edge under BossPrefs (a Cydia toggle control program for jailbroken phones).
I do not see this option under the General Settings "Network"... only Enable 3G and Data Roaming which personally I have always kept off because I don't have a data plan.
I suspect the fakeAPN no longer works with firmware 3.1.x or there is bug in it that makes the iPhone log false data numbers. If Fido/Rogers says they see nothing on their end and you will not be billed, at least that is some comfort.
As a sidenote, I'm not sure what I did is necessary because I am still on 3.0.1, and whether having "Edge" off will affect phone coverage/quality, I'll post the question.
