iPhone Restore Question

Hi.

I'm using iOS 5.01 with baseband 4.10.1 It is currently jailbroken, but I wish to restore and remove the jailbroken state and in the mean time preserve my baseband. I want to continue to stay at ios 5.01

This is what I thought of: use redsn0w to preserve baseband, but update to ios5.1. How do I go back to ios 5.01 and at the same time preserving my baseband? Thanks.

You can't stay at 5.0.1 if you want to restore. Best is to preserve baseband and update to 5.1 if you want to remove jailbroken state. Otherwise it's not possible to have 5.0.1 since Apple stopped signing the firmware.

Someone suggested using iFaith to go from 5.1 to 5.01, but would this preserve my baseband?

From what I heard (might be out of date) iFaith doesn't create firmware that preserves baseband. I heard sn0wbreeze does however.
