You aren't going to find them any cheaper than what you see on the Apple website, Apple sets these prices, and you will not see a decrease for a while, as they are brand new.

i think the 4gb are 299 and 2 gbs are 250.

The connection points of the battery are soldered onto the main board, from the pictures that i've seen, so they aren't meant to be replacable. But, if you were to find a replacement battery, have good soldering skills and not afraid to fry your nano, i guess they are replaceable.

2 gig vs 4 gig depends on how much music you want to store. 2G stores about 500 songs...or less if you like classic rock like Stairway to Heaven and Freebird

THe best place to resell it is eBay. You would expect around $90 for your 2GB nano, and about $115 for your 4GB nano in 1-2 years, depending on what the new ipods will feature.
