from the second review
i find that a bit suspect, but interesting...The sound is great. It’s easily as loud and seems to be more clear with better bass response than our 3G iPod.

Walt Mosserberg is like the anti-John Dvorak. He is a fan of everything Apple, so I wouldn't take his word for gospel. But promising nonetheless.

I was curious, so searched "iPod shuffle" on <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=78 target=_blank>eBay</a>
OH MAN
they are available in US (of course), Canada (Vancouver, and Montreal), and even UK!!! What is going on..........
Let's see how they turn out. I love Apple, but I wouldn't pay more than retail+tax for it on <a href=../autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=78 target=_blank>eBay</a>

Jan 13th, 2005 12:24 PM #6Can we order it online from Apple's website for $99USD and $149USD for the 512MB and the 1GB respectively? I'm seeing the 512MB go for $185USD. Nice friggin' profit!

Do you think it's possible to crack it open and mod it so it has more memory?

Jan 13th, 2005 12:46 PM #8Memory on these kind of devices is 'soldered' in to the PCB so the ' upgrade' is only possible from the factory.

I noticed from the first day though, the packaging screams as "BUY ME".
I mean it is Telus(clearnet) colors after all. I wonder if the 1 GB one will be orange instead of lime green?Last edited by yatko; Jan 13th, 2005 at 12:53 PM.

For Viz79- With shipping from apple.ca, it comes to 217 and change for the 1 Gb version, no reason to buy it on the US site.

shouldn't any order over 100$ have free shipping?
and edu pricing gives an extra 11$ off.
as for people getting it early, didn't the Shuffle came out the day it was announced? and people who went to the expo can get it. i saw photos from the expo somewhere of people grabbing them by the half-dozens.
