ISP Advice Needed: Telus DSL or Delta Cable's DCCNET
Hi All:
I am located in Delta, BC. I have been a DCCNET cable internet subscriber since the late 90's. Their prices were higher and they capped me at 1 gb upload and 3 gb download with strict charges for overages. I stayed because they were the only choice. Over time, I realized I appreciated the short wait times and good customer service.
I have thought about switching over to Telus. I realize the service will not be as good but lately Delta Cable's service has been suffering - Internet and Support. For price, I will save money because I have Expressvu but I pay Delta Cable more to have the Internet. I don't believe Telus enforces the usage cap as strictly as Delta Cable even though I am do not use a great deal of bandwidth.
Any thoughts? Has anyone else made the switch?
Thanks,
-

Well, Telus will tie you into a contract but you'll get a sign up bonus & of course larger caps. You could also go with Shaw - they're currently offering a free modem, 60 days free, then $29.95 for six months after that, which is cheaper than Telus.

As per BlueSkyzz, No Shaw in Delta. Delta Cable has a monopoly there.
If I don't take the bonus/freebie item, do I still have to sign the contract?
Thanks

Wow, I thought Shaw was everywhere in BC
As far as Telus, yes, you can go onto a monthly (no contract) plan, but it'll cost you $5/month extra. See http://mytelus.com/internet/highspeed/prices.do
