Italsofa Reviews?

Hello all,

We are looking at getting a leather sofa and loveseat and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with regard to this manufacturer. I know that Italsofa is made by Natuzzi and is a budget line for them using italian leather but assembled in either Brazil or China. I don't really have a problem with this so much that I just want to find out how it holds up over time. We are looking at either Sears or The Bay and seem to be getting a pretty good deal. I know there is better leather furniture out there but we sat in a few other sofas and just really loved the comfort of the Italsofa more specifically the Padova. Just wanted to hear what other people had to say.

Thanks!

We like ours and have recently past the 1 year mark of ownership on it. Still looking brand new, no issues with seams etc

All i will say is don't buy it from Mobilia, especially the one in Ottawa, cause the manager Ray is a snake.

We bought our sofabed from Mobilia in Hwy7 almost 3 years ago. It still is good overall though we have one side which most people sit which has 1 inch of seam broken. Other than that it still looks good and new. Also, after delivery, we noticed that the sofa isn't even, we called customer service and sent a guy to adjust the foot in a few weeks with no charge.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Looks like we are going with that model and as long as it holds up over time that's all that matters. I know some people like to get really high end leather furniture and I am sure it's better, but for us comfort wise this was the best price\look that is still considered good leather (I think 10) but does not break the bank either.

We purchased a sectional back in the summer time when The Bay had them on sale. So far so good...no complaints. I did notice that the shipping paperwork indicated that it was shipped from Italy????

I can't say I've been lucky. Another poster mentioned an inch long seam tear on a three year old sofa and dismissed it as being fine, I should hope a sofa would last longer than that before letting go.

I bought my sofa from Penthouse Home Furnishings in Toronto a year and a half ago. When they delivered it months later, it arrived with defects. We've since tried returning it, contacting suppliers and distributors, dealing with Penthouse directly... no dice. They sent in a repair contractor to take a look at it, they ordered some new hinges over a year ago, and we've been having trouble getting anyone to do anything since.

In frustration, I finally took a video showing some of our sofa defects which seems to be gaining us some traction, but the Natuzzi rep after seeing the video said that they would send someone out to finally address our year-and-a-half long broken hinge issue and look at our frame etc but said, straight out, that the stitching issue we have would not be addressed as it's "normal for this model". I pointed out that the model in the showroom that I bought has perfect stitching... I get the feeling I'm being brushed off every time I contact these people.

If you care to check out the video I made, here's a link: http://youtu.be/svWac4Um4Cs

Considering I bought a $600 sofa for a rental unit that still looks new while having to fight off careless renters, and this one's in my home and I've spent $3000 on it, I can't honestly condone an Italsofa purchase. The quality seems shoddy at best.

Best of luck on your sofa purchase! Hope you find what's best for you.

@RAWEFFECT

I did take a look at your video that you posted. Pretty shocking. I've already purchased the set, just waiting for delivery of the unit now. I did purchase the extra warranty, so hopefully any defects (I hope I don't have any) will be addressed. I am not sure with your set if it was just limited to that particular model because ours is a sofa/loveseat which is pretty simple. So I am hoping that our set is manufactured well. I really hope you get that sorted out because in my eyes that is just unacceptable to pay that much for a sofa and have poor craftsmanship. I will have to post up a review once we get ours.

Thanks.
