They also have the Pro LT version on sale for $324

I've been on the fence for months and but might pull the trigger at this price.

Just so you know, these are $199usd on amazon.com. well worth the drive to the states even if that's all you're buying...

Buy the Flir E4... yes it’s more expensive.

Google it.

Thank me later.

Bought this last year, it's great for home Colonoscopies, plus you can make some $ from friends and family.

How would these compare to the flir tg165 that reguarly gos on sale at ct? Besides a larger screen is the image detail/ resolution better or worse? Thx. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/flir ... #store=397
The Pro is more of a general home inspection camera.

The TG165 is more of a diagnostic tool, from my understanding.

Does anyone rent these things? I have a use for one to inspect an outside wall that I think didn't get insulated properly. I only need it for a couple of hours to see whether I need to pull the drywall off. I just can't justify buying one.

If you want some sample pictures of the FLIR One Pro, I'll try to get some posted.

Update: When the device works you get images like this, Milwaukee M12 Jacket, MSX On, Off, and just the onboard FLIR One Camera.

The TG165 has the same resolution as far as the Thermal image goes, lacks MSX(Edge enhanced mixed image). Comes with 2 laser dots to show what you are pointing at.
It's pretty much a spot infrared thermometer(Those $20 units with a single red dot telling you the temperature) with a screen and un-calibrated thermal imager to give you context.

Personal opinion only, The Canadian tire one might seem not as good for some due to only seeing temperature for one spot... but since it's an external tool, no amount of phone changing or buggy applications would get in your way of trying to make use of the tool. For this one point, I think it's a better investment to get the stand alone item instead of attaching to a cellphone.
