Jamie's Italian - Square One - gawd awful

Went there with my wife and 2 kids. Overpriced and underwhelming to say the least. "Fish in a bag" for kids should have been called "fat in a bag" as there was no fish. The rest was very standard fare at high prices. Can't see them lasting long.

What did you order?

I never really go to Italian restaurants, I am more of a steakhouse guy when going out. Or sushi AYCE

Pretty average, at best. Trouble with any celebrity restaurant is that it is really just a name and goes under pretty soon. The namesakes don't much care, they just get franchise money.

I went to the Yorkdale one when it first launched at it was ok. Now the quality, beer selection seems & portions seem to have declined.
Where's Jamie at does he know about this? perhaps we should report this to chef Ramsey.

Why would ramsey care, when they are competitors? He probably knows already since he's in the business, but probably couldn't care either way since he doesn't do much business in Canada.

not surprised. most places like this are over-hyped and fall short of expectations, especially given the premium precise they charge. jamie is doing serious damage to his brand with this.

He's not Italian and he dares to open an Italian restaurant? That's like Gordon Ramsey trying to open a French Restaurant. That would be just weird.

Scaddabush near Square One wasn't bad. The in-house mozzarella they serve is spectacular.

Gordon Ramsay - Le Pressoir D'argent. Great restaurant. Also Au Trianon in Versailles. La Veranda in Versailles, L'Oranger in London.

Jamie personally does great Italian food. Not disputing that franchises have all kinds of weaknesses, but don't assume a good chef cant do good food in another cultural genre.

I'm not sure if you're telling that to me or to the guy I was responding to. If you were telling me that, I'm assuming you had your sarcasm detector off lol.
