1st - do you have java installed? XP (and I think vista) does not come with it installed. http://www.sun.com/java/
2nd - if you do have it installed - in IE click tools -> then Advanced -> scroll down to find the java section and make sure it's enabled...

javascript links not working in web browsers
When I try to click on javascript links in IE or firefox, nothing happens. I've had this problem for months now. I cannot attach files to my emails. Some pages take a long time to load, and some links when I click on it doesn't do nothing. It just shows the javascript command at the bottom left window. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Try uninstalling the Java VM and reinstalling a new version from sun?
last I checked you need the java plugin (or Virtual Machine)... as per the KB at Micro$oft..
OP have you searched MS??

Something about your problem doesn't seem to make sense...
I would think that in order to perform any functions here on RFD your javascript would have to work...(i think?? - viewing source shows references to several javascript files)
Are you sure you are not looking at the problem in the wrong way?
Perhaps each link you are trying to access is a "pop-up" and you are in fact experiencing a pop-up problem. In other words, make sure you are not blocking pop-ups and/or provide an example of a problem link and we can see whether or not the link is opening in a _blank window.

Nope. Did a few searches and google and found some other people who are also experiencing the same thing. One person suggested it was my firewall zonealarm causing the problems. I usually turn it off and don't have it running when I'm using the computer but I just tried to uninstall it and I guess it worked again on firefox but its still the same deal with IE. Note I don't have any antivirus programs on my computer.

Here's one page I'm having trouble with http://www.workopolis.com/work.aspx?...NOLOGY&lang=EN. When trying to click on ontario, canada under locations, it does nothing. Same with clicking on next at the bottom to go to the next screen.

I just reinstalled java virtual machine as well as downloaded msjava.dll since when I tried to regsvr32 Msjava.dll it said it was missing and then it registered after I put it back into my system32 folder. After Installing vm again and restarting my computer I can now link on the links, but I think it might happen again. This problem is like an on and off problem. Sometimes I can click on the links and other times I can't.
