jewish food in downtown toronto
thinking of going for weekend bruch (mostly jewish food) at http://www.thefreetimescafe.com/
they play klezmer and yiddish music, at the brunch
from what i have read about them, the food is supposed to be good
i've never really had jewish food, except for the in-flight kosher meal...so i am looking forward to it
any other good places in downtown area?

It's in mid-town (Bathurst & Lawrence):
United Bakers Dairy Restaurant
Lawrence Plaza Toronto, ON M6A1A1
Phone: (416) 789-0519
United Bakers hasn't changed much in it's long hitstory. The same people still come in, though now a little wizened and holding the hands of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The kids get their own menu conforming to North American standards, but for the adults homey food means cheese blintzes or potato latkes, both with sour cream and apple sauce. The meatless, Kosher-style establishment also gets lots of orders for its garden-fresh salads and veggie stir-fries, not to mention the challah hot out of the oven.
