Oh man, I wondered why I couldn't Skippy Peanut butter....man, I loved Skippy!!
Skippy is not gone because of Jif. It's gone because Unilever sold Skippy to Hormel.
Hormel decided not to sell Skippy in Canada.
Jif is being made by Smuckers.
Hormel does not have any Peanut butter in Canada at the moment.
There is nothing to "compete with yourself".
Therefore, they might bring Skippy back yet, but who knows?
Here's a page to keep your eye on: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/skippy-nat ... 0188082445

Squirrel became Skippy. They put the squirrel on the Skippy jar. Unilever decided not to compete with themselves. Now, why Hormel abandoned Skippy in Canada is anyone's guess.
(as I've mentioned, they don't have another brand of Peanut Butter here)

Last time I remember eating Squirrel I thought it was very dry. Like Kraft / Jif better.

I don't even remember what it tasted like anymore, I just remember there being a variety of brands to choose from back then. I personally just go with natural peanut butter now so as long as it only contains peanuts I'm good with it. My husband on the other hand likes the other type of peanut butter and is happy to hear about Jif being available again.

ok, just picked up a 1Kg JIF creamy peanut butter from Loblaws - on sale for $5.99 (not as good as RCSS - oh well)

And I just made a sammy - wow, JIF is good, more peanut buttery than Kraft (I find Kraft kinda bland) - though calories wise, Kraft is healthier by a little bit...

yum yum!!

Costco a year or so back had Planters in a 2kg? size.. It was very good too, much better than Kraft. I totally agree with everyone who thinks Kraft's is very bland - and their light product is even worse, it's just sweeter yuk.
Give the planters a try too if you're looking for something else to try.

(a kg of Kraft PB @ Metro is also on sale for $2.99-double the size, but hey? Jif is Jif! lol)

Do you mean you can't see either of them? They're not side by side. Each special is in two separate sections of the Metro flyer.
The Kraft price is above the flyer effective date and the Jif special is on page 10 in the "More great savings" section. (just before the cleaning supplies)
Remember: It's the flyer effective April 20-26, 2017.

Skippy Peanut butter was the squirrel. Someone on here said Kraft sucks since they switched to the creepy bears. Kraft PB has always been bears. At least for the last 34+ years. Also, you don't have to REALLY REALLY love JIF to pay $5 for 1 KG. You just have to have a job to pay for it. Get used to the prices climbing. Peanut butter is the least of your worries.

Considering it's 1 tub every 3-4 months for me who cares... $3, $4, $5. There will be sales.
