I am so sad that I will goto the grave and never taste Jimmy's Chinese Style Beef Jerky again, especially the hot flavour. I remember taking a bag to lunch in Grade 6 here in Calgary and sharing it and everybody was in love with it.

Come on, there's got to be an entrepreneur in the country who wants to make this product again, heh heh.

Quick, somebody go on Dragon's Den for this idea!

Which probably explains why it was so good; much less preservatives than western jerky.

I don't know if they patented it though. Maybe they'll sell off the recipe one day.

I remember there were two versions: spicy and sweet. The sweet one was a bit more moist. This product really brings back good old memories.

I loved this stuff growing up. I used to eat a whole box in one sitting. :o

Does anybody have any suggestions on similar jerky products available? I'm not a fan of the Macau-style jerky. Any other suggestions would be welcome!

2-year bump/update:
Just talked to a friend who actually knows Jimmy's daughter and son-in-law.. They closed down because Jimmy wanted to retire, and the kids didn't want to take over the business. They also won't sell the recipe.

Anyone on the west side willing to call them? We all know people in Toronto are too cheap to call

Other chinese/asian jerky's are too thick and rubbery...bleh...

What?
I thought most RFd people had an unlimited calling plan for one price.
I have a north america unlimited phone plan!
