Searched around the websites in these days.... I have found a lot of complaints, court issues about the Geo Holiday on the net. Unfortunately, I did my internet research after I signed the contract two weeks ago.
Read thru all the complaints I have found that most of the issues were complaint about the presensation, the sales persons & the freebies. Lucky or not, I haven't found any complaint from the people who actually joined the club........ Now I am so worry about my $$$$. Anyone who joined the club or heard anything about the club... Could you please let me know where is my $$$ now??? Threw it into the deep deep ocean???

Anyone?
Geo Holiday's concept is similar as the Timeshares company in the market but they are selling points/credits not the weeks. I can use the points to stay in their resorts around the world & I can also use my points to exchange RCI's points.
Anyone heard about this company? Again, I read so many complaint about the presentation & the sales persons. However, I really want to know more about what happen after I joined them?? Resorts are bad?? A lot of hidden fees when I use my points??? Not worth at all???? Can't book any resorts or exchange RCI points in the peak time???

Paying $$$$ now (and $$$ each year) for future vacations
In Ontario, I think you might have 10 days to get your money back.
Sounds like you might want to do that if you can.

Thanks for your advise...
Yes, I really want to get back my money. Unfortunately, I signed the contract two weeks ago. Now it's more than 10 days.
Also, I cannot find other reason to cancel the contract as the salesperson had never force me to sign it. The most attractive thing for me was they do have cruise & I can use the points for the cruise.
What they explained to me was if my whole family get on the cruise. If I join the local travel agent. It costs about $2K per person. It's almost the half price of the whole package of this life time membership. According to their explanlation (cruise - 1 cabin for 4 persons = approx. 25,000 points)

I think the 10 day cooling off period is for you to change your mind,
whether the sales person pressured you or not.
If you have confirmed the costs for the same cruise (ship, date, cabin class) through a legit travel agent, sounds like you may get some value from your membership.
Saw in one of those linked posts, that if you only pay a small amount upfront it looks like you can get a "good" deal. e.g. One person gave a $1500 down payment and then wanted to cancel. They converted her d.p. into a trial 3 year membership (i.e. 3 weeks at a timeshare) plus a cruise.Last edited by PC-stuff; May 24th, 2006 at 05:33 PM.

In general timeshares are a good deal on the accomodation, but the air fare will kill you because you can't book last-minute and get discounts. You have to book the timeshare well ahead, and airfares are expensive booked ahead.
You will do much much better booking a package on expedia or wherever than you will with a timeshare.
To the original poster - I think you will find it very hard to get out of your deal, but you can 'sell' your weeks to friends and family if you can't use them yourself.

I worked for GEO Holiday club a few years back and here is my 2 cents...
The concept of timeshare and specificaly points based memberships is good. The key is knowing how to use the exchange system (RCI) and how to maximize your points. GEO's resorts are nice places however they may not have as much value to trade with. I would call the sales rep, or respective folks at the presentation site and get them working for you. If you lean on them heavily they should help out.
PS Who were you dealing with? Who was the 'manager'?
GOOD LUCK!_______________

What the heck? What the smurf kinda cruise are they talking about? My parents are cruiseaholics and they only take the best ships and lines (usually Royal Caribbean) and they never pay $2K per person unless it's tranatlantic. For instance, they only paid around $3500 per person but that was for the Queen Mary 2 maiden voyage for a full 1 bedroom suite that lasted 2 weeks!

Those guys are lying. My friends went on 2 different cruises on their honeymoon.. 1 east caribbean, 1 west.. they just got if off travelocity... $600 per person each cruise on Royal..
None of my prices include airfare to the port but i don't your timeshare includes airfare either._______________

I think that if you go to the 'sales pitch' both you and your significant other better have your stories straight before hand. Otherwise its divide and conquer.
I would never sign on the dotted line and spend significant $$$ unless I had some time to think about it and would tell them that 'straight off'. If your interested in their pitch you can tell them so BUT also tell them you will not sign 'TODAY' and not until you have time to read over and thought about the contract and have the opportunity to take it to your accountant or lawyer if A LOT of money is involved.
They will not like you taking the contract, or taking time to think about the 'DEAL', mainly because they know they will likely never see you again. But if the deal is 'one time only' or you are pressured into it think of what kind of company it is and tell them that you would rather not deal with a company that treats its clients like that.
OP I do not know about this particular comp. Geo Holiday but remember that only the ppl who are pissed off with the company will take time to post it. It may be a small number relative to the satisfied customers... OR NOT!
My 2 cents._______________
It used to be only death and taxes were inevitable. Now, of course, there's shipping and handling, too.

Geo Holiday..
My parents purchased the membership around few months back.. It is totally a waste of time and money.. They were kind of forced to purchase the plan and the total amount was $14,000 Cad. There is also annual fee of around 500 cad. There is no way to get out of it, as they do not buy it back..We have been very much frustrated and are not able to do anything as they seem to be legit. If anyone out there have any suggestion please let me know.
thank you

I got 2 calls from Geo Holidays (actually they said Geo Enterprises) this past week to get my "free prize" at the Richmond Hill location.
60 Wilmont St, Unit#1
1st call was a choice of 4 vactions...the lady said she would call me back to confirm my appointment
2nd call was a chance to win 5 prizes ranging from a new truck, $25,000 to a week-end getaway.
Kept them on the phone for a while booked a time slot then they assumed I would be bringing my wife. Told them oh I can't, she's out of the country for a year. The guy then tells me I just need to bring a friend then immediatly asks me who i'm bringing.
maybe i could answer him right away if I has a mistress somewhere. Anyways I just asked him how long it would take to claim my prize very unexpectedly he hung up on me. Now I'm really inclined to set up an appointment to waste their time.
