Juicer
My wife and I love to drink fresh carrot juice, but paying $6 for each large cup is getting to be too expensive.
Can any one recommend a good juicer?
Thanks!

Here's my comment about juicers
My dad bought one a year ago and it's a pain in the ass. You have to buy an assortment of fruits, juice it yourself, and then clean the juicer. I'd rather pay the $6 at a juice place.

I still have the original Juiceman from back in 1993. Get one with a heavy duty motor, you will have to spend over $100 for a half decent unit. Jack La Lanne's (spelling) is a decent one too. Get one with a stainless still blade and assembly. Cleaning is rarely a breeze, it's just the price you have to pay.
Don't drink a lot of carrot juice as your skin can turn orangy and this means it's affecting your liver. Moderation is the key.

mines been in the storage cupboard for a couple of years... cleaning really is a pain.
we've got a braun, works really good. its the second one we've had. the first we gave away to a friend because it never got used, same reason, hated to clean it. then a few years later hubby needed another, and we liked the braun so we bought the exact same one._______________

I am not sure which Braun you have but the one I used from my sister did partially break (maybe just a defect) but when compared to the juiceman the braun didnt extract nearly as much as the juiceman did; however, the braun at the time was around $70 and the juiceman almost $200.

Sears had the Breville JE95XL on sale last week. Linen's-N-Things have reduced the price of the Breville Compact Juice Fountain to $80. They have strong motors and have a pretty good reputation from what I understand.

But the braun is very good for what you get for the price.Last edited by Pavel; Mar 24th, 2007 at 07:30 PM.
