I also use a freeware/OpenSource Bayesian filter plug-in on Outlook 2000 on my work machine that seems to very well. I don't remember the name, but it's hosted on SourceForge so it should be relatively easy to find.

Forward it to goob3r, he's looking for things to do
Yeah, send it to me.
I recently just registered a domain. I was amazed that it was still available since all the otehr top levels were taken. I checked the mail for the first time yesterday, and found 250 spam emails awaiting me. They were all either face@ or lolita@
That got me wondering, so I took a look at the logs, and there were upwards of 200 visitors that came by the site, referred from xxx sites, and mostly from Japan. The domain name is a Japanese word.
Turns out I picked up an old adult site's domain name. Which is surprising, because the word is no less associated with sex than the word "happy".
Time to configure spamassassin.

SPAM is a fact of (Internet) life, and 10 pieces a day is already heaven to me.

I dont' know how gmail does it but they are incredibly good at filtering my spam. I get maybe 1 spam a day in the inbox and there are days where i get none.
When I look in the spam folder, i get dozens of spams coming in and gmail has managed to sift all that out for me. I can't say the same for hotmail, spam just flows right in like tap water.

Yes, my Gmail account catches much spam (filtered into spam folder), but then there are still A LOT left in the Inbox. In my other mail account, the upstream provider filters out the more obvious spam messages so I don't even see them at all.
