Jury Duty Phone Call
Is it standard practice to receive a phone call when summoned for jury duty? Everything I have read suggests that you receive a letter in the mail. Any ideas?

No, I've never heard of that, but I have seen, on two separate occasions, when the jury pool was spent without having picked 12 and the sheriff was sent out on the street to replenish it.
I'd call the courthouse first thing in the morning to check if I were you. It is unusual, but not completely unbelievable._______________

Well, it is true...apparently the letters are sent out from London and this was so last minute they didn't have time to mail them out, so they just started phoning people. Not a good time at work for this! I just know I'm going to get picked!

I wouldn't even have the balls to pretend to be ignorant in public! Guess I'll just have to suck it up!
