Just got a suspicious call from "my gas company"

Yea, I just just recieved this phone call from some company that says it my natural gas provider. They never actually stated the name of the company when I asked them, they just said "Natural Gas Provider".
I was told by them that they had technicians on my street and they were doing maintenence on furnaces and stuff.
Now, I'm a bit cautious when it comes to stuff like this, especially if they want to screw around with my furnace.
With all these new companies trying to scam people into signing contracts with them I just have to be certain.
So am I getting f--- or is this legit?
They claim it'll be tomorrow and tried to book a time but I just told them to call back later.

Common sense would dictate that a call back to your natural gas provider would be the correct move.

They called me when their non-emergency lines for my actual gas provider are closed.
This group said they'd call back but never did.
If they show up tomorrow, I'll tell them to bugger off.
