Keyboard doesnt work

I have a note 4 and my keyboard doesnt work well ... I have to hit a few times to get it

Mostly the bottom right area having problems like delete, space, period and few letters

Is it the beginning of the end?

Sounds like the digitizer is failing. You could try downloading something like SwiftKey and see if it does the same thing

Then yes, the digitizer of your screen is damaged. Either replace the screen or toss the phone. First, I would factory reset the phone just to make sure it's not a software problem (very unlikely).

Screen replacement cost (glass+digi+LCD) would be at least 200 for an original Samsung screen.

The obvious upgrade path for the Note 4 would be the Note 8. The dual rear cameras are great too. But because the're priced ridiculously high, I'd opt for the S8 which also has an excellent camera, though not dual.

Note 8 if you need the pen, or s8+ alternatively v30, g6 or pixel.

If you stick with samsung i think they have some trade deals for your existing samsung, especially in the US.

Any of these alternatives better than Samsung?

V30, G6 has an advantage for higher quality sound/music and professional options for video/camera.
Pixel 2 will always run smooth and likely will have a better camera processing, front facing speakers, faster updates and unlimited storage for lifecycle of the phone.

Take different brands for a spin. Go to a carrier store that have phones on demo. Since you're a Samsung user, I'm sure the interface is likely important to you. Check out different phones and see what you're most comfortable with aside Samsung.

I'm a happy Motorola user and don't plan on switching as long as Lenovo keeps up with my expectations.
