Keyless entry problem...
my 1999 honda accord factory keyless entry has gone haywire. After a few consultations, it looks like the module (control unit) is jacked.
Could I, in theory, purchase another module (from a newer accord), andpop it in and have it working?!? or is there programming involved (besides the remotes)
im hoping this would work to avoid any re-wiring. any suggestions!??

I think you'll have to find the same model as the one you have now, the newer ones will probably not work. Check eBay for the keyless much cheaper than the dealerships.

im figuring the extra features on the some of the newer models will just be negated on my older model. everything else should work fine...no?

I just purchased a keyless fob off eBay for $6.99 US for my older ('03) van. Delivered to GTA for less than $20.00
Dealer wanted $110 + Labour ++
Place called RemoteSuperstore There appear to be many different sellers.
Comes with simple programming instructions. Works like a charm!
Good Luck!

thanks for the info, but I'm not looking for the remotes. I'm looking for the actual receiver unit that is buried in the dash. I want to know if I can change that.
