Thunder Bay is getting another KFC location across from the Intercity Mall. We can't get Popeye's or other franchises. Mary Brown's was an utter failure and left the city years ago. The local casino cut the menu recently so I can't get barbecued chicken from there. I eat KFC once in a blue moon after they went from cooking lard to polyunsaturates some years ago. And now they have replaced their Cole slaw too? Their gravy is okay if you get it when it's the thick stuff (like you get in the states). Most often though it's runny. Pairs best with A&W French Fries. That means I have to do a lot of running around between franchises to get a decent fast food meal these days. It's no wonder I usually get a sub instead...

Bought a tuesday special each from KFC and Popeye's. The KFC's new chicken cutting procedure from 9 to 12 pcs from a whole chicken, is not working for them. This will be the last time I'm going to KFC. I didn't get a drumstick, but instead the 2 pc is a thigh cut in half. Such disrespect. So damn small !

KFC should now team up with this company http://www.twobite.ca/ Because I can finish their 2 pc in two bites !

I might be ok with it, if they gave you several pieces of kfc fried chicken skin to compensate for the small chicken pieces, but they didn't even do that. How many pieces they give you has no meaning anymore when they cut pieces in half. I'm surprised they don't start claiming a wingtip is one piece.

If they did give more pieces to compensate, then they shouldn't even have to cut them smaller in the first place. Probably not a good idea anyway, as there would still be complaining. The customers would just realize how god awfully small the chicken is and feel ripped off by it.. Whereas if they left it the same before, it would look like you're getting your moneys worth at least. (you know, bigger is better.)

I wish we had popeyes in Vancouver. Those KFC orders look so sad tho, which is the same experience I had last time I went there such small pieces. I usually just eat churchs when I crave fried chicken now.

So picked up a bucket on the way home last night. has been awhile since we had it.

got home and looked inside the bucket and boy the pieces looks awfully small. looked closely at it and looks like they are cutting all the bigger pieces in half now. the rib par was at least haft it not a 1/3 of it. the breast part where you used to the whole breast now you get a quarter.

anyone else notice this or is it just the particular one i went to?

would be funny, if this wasn't so sad. They are only going to lose more customers this way, and the chicken segment of the overall market is not growing at all.

What I don't understand is why they would do it...chicken is fairly cheap, especially dark meat which is what they mainly serve at KFC. Cutting each piece into two is ripping off the customer, who's unlikely to return if they don't see value in the product. The KFC a few minutes from my house is like a ghost town, I don't know how they stay in business.

It's like Breyer's ice cream, they've down graded the ingredients so much, I won't buy it anymore.

The KFC’s in mall food courts seem to have steady business. Perhaps that’s because they’re usually combined with a Taco Bell.

My go to place lately for fried chicken is Mary Browns.
