Has anyone ever been to King Kebab? If so, what did you think of it? It's on Dixie Road just north of Eglington.

Oh I just found this online, thinking about goin there with a group this weekend. Steak for $15 isn't bad and they have a bunch of dishes under $10. I think you have to get rice and stuff separately though. I was looking at online reviews and they're all fairly high.
Tbh, I only know one other Turkish restaurant in Mississauga: http://www.turkishkitchen.tk/
But something interesting, there's this other one which used to has the same address as King Kebab so I'm guessing the owners either re-branded it or it's under new management:

I was in this area and although there's a Bamiyom across from it, I tried it out.
It was fantastic. The beef shish and chicken shish kababs were great. I liked them better than the Afghani places in Mississauga/Brampton because their beef was softer but also tasted more well cooked so the texture of their food was great. There was another kabob which wasn't as good but not bad and they had another one called I think adana kabob which was good.
The best part was that the restaurant was nice and quiet on a weekend night and not too busy with a clean setting and it was good to go with a family. We were driving by later that night and saw how packed bamiyam was in the same plaza, there were people waiting for a table lol. I'd say the prices here are probably similar but the portion sizes are definetely better.
A word of caution though, if you go on Fri or Sat night then probably get there before 7:30ish because they ran out of meet and they had to turn some people away who came in afterwards even before 9 PM. This probably isn't a problem on a weekday but I found it weird. Their menu was also really limited, they had like 7 entrees but we could only order from 4 because the other ones all ran out. They didn't really have sides but they serve their dishes with rice, salad, pita, and some sauce.
The other criticism I have is that as their business picks up, they'll need to add a chef because there was only one chef which isn't a problem on slower times but had to wait around 30 mins when we went with 4 or 5 other families there. They didn't have steak which sucked but they did say that they're gonna be adding more menu options soon cos they just opened recently. (And I did check, there was another Turkish restaurant here before but these are new owners).
It has good potential anyways, they just need to fix those other problems once their business picks up. I'd recommend trying it out....probably the best middle-eastern restaurant food I've had (I know Turkey is actually in Europe but it tastes very close)._______________

Delicious
Alright. Let me tell you about my experience with this cosy family owned restaurant. Before I go on, I'd like to point out the fact that there may be other Turkish restaurants in the area, yet I think that this restaurant is the closest you can get to Turkey without actually travelling there.
It was a cold and dark December night, I was exhausted when my plane landed at Pearson and all I wanted after a long flight from Europe was to have a hot meal with not too many people around. I live in Oshawa, so I thought stopping by somewhere close to the airport to eat would be a great idea, before heading back home. My friend and I looked up places on his smartphone -very convenient indeed- and we found this cute restaurant hiding in the same plaza as the oversold Bamiyan. From the moment we stepped in, we could already feel that our tastebuds were going to have a very good time here. We ordered a mixed kebap plate with almost everything that King Kebap has to offer. Alright, let me explain how it was. In Turkish, we say "it tasted so good that I wanted to eat my fingers after". Well, that's what it was. The meat tasted very genuine, natural and real; and even after filling up the tank, I felt very healthy.
I go back to this restaurant every now and then. It takes an hour to drive from Oshawa to this restaurant, and totally worth it.
A couple drawbacks, as the person above mentioned. You need to be a little patient with the service as the restaurant is still very new. A lot of the times, the owners take great caution to serve on time; however, sometimes it takes a little longer for your freshly cooked meal to be ready.
Just try it out, you will thank me later.

And the shills flew in.
Dumbass restaurant owners/managers of the GTA: I and many people don't consider fake reviews ethical. Think about what that means in the long run. No one has ever built a successful restaurant upon a foundation of fake reviews._______________

^ I don't think that review is fake man. He probably googled the restaurant and saw this thread and registered and posted. I could be wrong but fake reviews are usually different from that one. The one I posted obviously isn't fake.
And I can vouch for the other good reviews, I've only been there once but the food was good, maybe they've fixed the problems I pointed out the first time, who knows.
I found a couple other Turkish restaurants in Mississauga so would love to try them out, they seem to be much better than bamiyam and co._______________

you're right, the tone isn't like all of the other shill reviews except there's one part of the story that gives it away. if you are looking for a place to eat on your smartphone that means you've never been there. so, following the same logic, if he's never been there and this was his first time then how did he know about bamiyon and it being "oversold"?

Fake Review
I see, you reckon that I am the owner of the restaurant.
First- I am 25 years old, I am a full-time student taking engineering at UOIT in Oshawa. Let alone operating a restaurant, I don't have time to hang out with my friends during the week. I live in Oshawa and I visit this restaurant for their delicious meals only, and mostly on Saturdays.
Second- Bamiyan has more than one location; I have tried Bamiyan when I visited my high school friend at York University. I mentioned Bamiyan because I read your reviews and I wanted to let you know about how I feel about it.
Third and last- All I wanted was to help you. For years, I have been on Yelp, sharing my experiences there. I recently found out about this website and I wanted to join. Seems like I did wrong.
Enjoy the long weekend.
