Kitten pawing at face
We just got a 9 wk old kitten on Tuesday. We took him to the vet yesterday and the vet said he might be teething and that is why he keeps pawing at himself. This morning he was aggressively pawing at himself and my wife is freaking out because he seems to be in pain. Does anyone know if this is normal ?

I had a kitten that was doing that, he was teething. Picked up some cream from the vet for $6. It happened for a good month until he stopped. Some cats can take the teething pain better than others.

Yeah sometimes it happens. It is can be possible that he got any wound in his mouth. So while you have his mouth open look for any bright red spots. And better talk to your vet and until the source of the problem is found, offer him very soft food.

I called the vet and they said just to give him toys to chew on. They said there was nothing to give him. Do you know the name on the cream ? Hopefully I won't need it, my kitten seems to have calmed down, I haven't seen him doing it for the last 24hrs.
