holy crap that thing looks cool.
Now i regret spending my OSAP money on a laptop... it's not half as cool as this
then again, i doubt that gps unit will allow me to post dumb comments on RFD during lectures like I am now....._______________

I tried to get one of these with the 40% off sears coupon, got denied. $50 off though, a coupon for $20...plus a $40 rebate would be sweet. I still don't see the rebate for $40 though, probably staring right at it.
OP, where is the $40 rebate???

I think the OP meant a $50 rebate... isn't there a $30 coupon code for Sears?
edit: $30 code is 941615934 but only for $250+ purchases.Last edited by h00ch; Sep 25th, 2008 at 12:33 PM.

Apparently for the new Knight Rider, Val Kilmer is the voice of Kitt.. wonder if this one is Val's voice, or the old Kitt with "the Hoff".. :P
Anyways, thanks OP.

The description on the Sears website says "Featuring the original voice of K.I.T.T." so I assume it is the old KITT voice from the 80's.

It's the original voice. Not Kilmer. Thank god!
Too bad it's such a basic GPS unit jazzed up with the Knight Rider stuff. No, BlueTooth,no FM transmitter, no Text2Speech (for obvious reasons), average battery life. Not like it's cheap either.
I like the gimmic, but I don't think I'm gonna drop the cash for it._______________

So does it mean it can do text to speech, just not with KITT's voice?
http://www.laptopmag.com/review/gps/...io.aspx?page=1Driving with the Knight Rider was a pleasure, although we wish that it pronounced street names using Daniels voice. The package comes with MioMore software which runs on Windows XP and Vista computers and can install a text-to-speech voice, but you have to remove one of the preloaded languages: French, Spanish, orheaven forbidK.I.T.T.
