I think that's because their deals should starting tomorrow according to this thread? So I don't think the CSRs are aware of it yet
telus-mobility-ab-bc-10gb-data-unl-call ... r-2154535/

It only talks about the $60 plan though, nothing about the $85 one.
I saw the thread you were talking about too, but I can't find it anymore :(

At that price point, I'd probably make the switch to Telus for their $7 per day USA Easy Roam or $10 per day International if you can get the 10 GB plan with them in Ontario, especially if you're not sure if the referral bonuses will last (strangers online etc).

Edit: woops looks like Koodo has exactly the same roaming

Switched from Rogers, no problems. Wow mobile at Hillcrest Mall (Richmond Hill, Ont) also gives a $25 bill credit. YMMV for other Wow locations, they said it is something that location does.

These days there is no reason to lock in on a two-year plan as they have going cheaper for the past two years and will continue to decrease.

So if I'm an existing customer can I just port out to another provider, like Petro Canada or something, and then stop by koodo by Tuesday and sign up as a new account, or will that not work

Just wondering if it can be done or npt as the 10gb plan does not interest me.
I asked about $40 for 4gb or $50 for 6gb and Koodo said nope.

Did anyone have success switching to the 10 GB plan if they already recently made changes to their plan?

On hold for the retention department now but when I played around with changing my plan online it says 'You can only change your plan once per billing cycle'. Not sure if their CSR can override this or not...

Can someone explain to me what Easy Roam really is? Do I just pay $7/day when I'm traveling and use my plan normally?

Correct. I used it when I went to NYC and used my phone like I do regularly with LTE. 2 days = $14.

No need to port out etc. I'm also an existing customer on the QC $55 8gb plan. I just called in and they transferred me to retentions and I got this sweet deal.

update:

1. CSR call - 40 minute wait time to get in and then transferred to the other line for retentions
2. Retentions - 45 minutes wait time on the line (no call backs, so dont hang up)

Once retentions answered, it took 30 seconds for my account upgrade. Got the email instantly to confirm.

They also dont charge the $10 fee, so its a free switch.

Quick and easy, except for the wait times.

It sounds like they're literally on a roll and just go from caller to caller because 99% of the people on the line want the upgrade. They input their code on your account, and game over, next in line.

Yes you are correct. I just got back from Florida and used my phone 5 days and was charged $7 per day. If you are going longer than 7 days it is better to get a quick plan from AT&T for $45 for the month which includes 6GB of data and Unlimited everything else. Just my 2 cents :)
