To everybody getting these plans, are you able to get a phone with it or is it just a plan upgrade?

Year 2015 :)

Jokes aside, I'm on a 1+1GB plan with Fido for 35$ like I mentioned a few posts above. My GF is with Virgin and she called them last week. She told them I had 2GB Unltd Calls/Texts with Fido and that she wanted the same thing. Took less than 10 mins and she got the 2GB Unltd plan for 35$.

Not sure what's your provider ATM but it might be worth a call to see if you're eligible.
Thanks I'm with Videotron. I already have a good discount on the internet on the home phone.. But nothing on the mobile. What should I say? There is no public offer for 2 GB @ $35 to ask for the same

For someone in Ottawa, is it better to just go with the Videotron deal (unlimited talk + text + 6gb data for $50 but lowered by $5 per line for every line added up to 3 [i.e. if you have 4 lines, you all pay $35])?

You lose 2gb of data but save ~$15 per month (depending on how many lines you group together). You also don't have to worry about potentially being forced into an in-province 'market rate' plan.

Anyone able to stack this with an existing discount? I currently have a partners discount for 25% off. It'd be awesome if they are able to provide the plan and keep the discount on top.

I basically said a friend got the wind deal and was honest about wanting something comparable. After a few minutes the first clerk transferred me to the second person and it was easy and honest from there.

She also asked for my friends number to see how his retention clerk got the OP discount and then I mentioned it was a red flag deals thing and she put two and two together about the extra phone call volume.
Brutal. Drawing attention to rfd is not smart.

Called them and mentioned that I am switching to freedom mobile. Got transferred to retentions and they said they could not give me a better plan.

I'm on 55$ for 3gb with koodo
I was on this same plan. Maybe give it another try? They upgraded me to $56 for 5 gb. Not as good as some others in this thread but still happy with an extra 2 gb for $1.

I'm on the $48/5GB plan (Koodo retentions offered the legit version in Nov 2016) on two of my lines. Called and politely mentioned Freedom $40/6GB deal. After checking with her support, the rep has added 1GB (ongoing) for $0 to the plan for both lines. Thanks OP!

I would love to get my wife's Alberta phone number off of the Sask plan just to make hardware upgrades easier but I have gotten grief from Koodo reps before when they notice this. Not sure if they would switch us over to this plan or not.

So no luck on the additional 2gb?

Depends if you're on contract or if you have a phone tab/balance, how long you've been with them, etc... It is indeed much easier to match a plan that is publicly available from a competitor, but it usually pays to call and see what kind of offers you're eligible for. Start by mentioning what "your" friend is getting through their competitor, and ask if they can match or offer something similar. If you've been with 3+ months, you should be eligible for some loyalty offers in the form of promotional credits, bonus data, etc... Then decide if what they offer is interesting.

I was put on hold for 30 mins and retention Rep came back offering $7 for 2gb extra, which I refused. I'm on $48 dollar 5gb plan, I got this plan last year by calling rentention Rep, I'm in Calgary, Alberta and got sask. plan.

In Vancouver, BC - currently on legit 5gb 48 dollar plan. Asked to match Freedom Mobile, they said they don't have those I asked about the +$1/gb they said they do not have that offer anymore.

Instead she added 1gb bonus for free indefinitely.

hi!

on the phone with Koodo now!

currently have the 34$ 1gb unlimited talk and text with bonus 2gb of data (so 34$ for 3 gb) and overage of 5$/250mb.

was just offered to keep my bonus data and tack on an extra 500mb if i switch to the 49 6gb plan, so 49 for 8.5 gb (5$ per 100mb overage)

Do I switch!?

(last 3 months i usilrd used 5gb of data l, which was a first. until then, i had steady under 3gb usage)
