Depends on how much you wanna spend. The Pixel 3XL has a bit larger screen. Oneplus 6 or Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 could also be viable options.freewheelin76 wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, 2019 4:23 pmOrdered a pixel 2xl on medium. Coming from Nexus 6p. Wondering now if there was a better option

The Canadian launch date was October 18, 2018. I got it two months later. The duration of software support is fine for now. Maybe XDA will come to the rescue with a bootloader unlock in the mean time. I got the G7 at half the price of this phone. I remain satisfied with the purchase.tntdeal wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, 2019 2:54 pmTwo years from the launch date which is May 2018, not from the date you bought it.
Most currently supported phones are pretty good in quality, but when there are choices, I'd always put higher preference on phones with more open software than lockdown. These days and age, it's the software that makes or breaks the user experience.

Yeah those are both a bit rich. That Xiaomi is what? 7 or 800? I had considered p20 pro before. Would we say the P20 pro is better than pixel 2? but not as good as pixel 3?

There are other Xiaomi phones like Mi 8, Mix 2s that are pretty good as well. Xiaomi phones have problem with Netflix though.freewheelin76 wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, 2019 6:58 pmYeah those are both a bit rich. That Xiaomi is what? 7 or 800? I had considered p20 pro before. The P20 pro is the same generation as the 2XL but with more solid hardware, but software is pretty much total locked-down.

Yeah I think I was considering it for the 128g and for the use of the telephoto when traveling. Was hoping to leave the dslr at home next trip. If the p20 pro was 0 on medium I would have gone with it for sure.

I ordered online last week and canceled the plan today and paid the tab without any fuss from customer service. Thanks OP!

How can you tell if your screen has a reverse screen orientation? Quick google search shows no topic on it.tntdeal wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, 2019 1:31 amIf by defects you meant the angular colour shift then it's not a defect but a type of LG's 2017 OLED technology weakness. Samsung also has weaknesses, just different.
If you're lucky to receive one with the reverse screen orientation then you won't notice it. If you've never seen the colour shift before then don't look for it, just use the phone normally and you won't ever see it.

Do you have this phone? Does it look like the one on the left or right in the first picture on this page? https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker ... blue-shiftsolairerfd wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, 2019 11:11 pmHow can you tell if your screen has a reverse screen orientation? Mine looks like the right one, but when I rotate it, it looks like the left one.
I've looked at a bunch of OLED phones and most have the tinted end at the bottom. The one Mate 20 Pro I've seen has the tinted end at the top, similar to the P2 XL, but less severe.
One important thing though, when putting them side by side at the same brightness, even with the tint, the P2XL remains brighter and clearer to look at from an angle.
The V40 solved the issue and is the best in terms of colour shift. Too bad Google didn't use this screen for the P3XL.

The rep didn't mention any monthly charge. I would expect a pro-rated amount as a worst case scenario though.

And the 128gb is $10/mo.JamalM208659 wrote: ↑Feb 24th, 2019 1:07 amis freedom mobile tab system different? Cause its zero down with 5 dollars for 24 months. which would mean the tab is 120?
There is no stock in corporate stores nationwide. Online still appears to have. Franchise stores may (but likely also don't) have, but there is no easy way to figure out which stores are franchise and which are not.
Their retention department gave me a decent plan. $50 for 8gb, 1 GB full speed USA / Canada roaming, no charge slow us / can roaming.
Not sure if you can just buy and pay the tab off

The monthly fee is prorated. The billing system does prorate properly, so no worries.

The freedom tab is the same if you stay the duration. The difference is if you leave early. The $779 savings that they refer to which is for the $5/month tab option will be clawed back based on how much earlier you left. My understanding is the CRTC wireless code calls for prorating this. For each month you stay, it's reduced at 1/24 of the amount. When Koodo gives you an activation credit, it's not prorated. It's as if the tab is the cost of the phone. You leave early, pay the tab and go.JamalM208659 wrote: ↑Feb 24th, 2019 1:07 amis freedom mobile tab system different? I decided to get the Note 9 with Koodo instead ... $880+tax... completely in the other direction lol. New S10s are just too expensive and honestly, all the new phones being announced seem to be with this new $1400 plus out-to-lunch pricing (sans the Chinese discount phones).
