[Koodo] Koodo 5GB Unlimited Nation wide minutes $50 (Public Mobile)

A friend who is a Public Mobile customer get a text that he is eligible to switch to Koodo and get 5GB + Unlimited Nation wide minutes. The text said that the promo code for this offer is KOODO505GB.
This may be interesting to some.

Received the same text. Is this the end of public mobile?

I received the same text, but this is definitely YMMV, because it said it's only valid for my phone number. Just to mention - I'm on their 12GB/Province Wide Calling/International Text plan for $120/3 months

Are you on one of their legacy plan?

Just got this text message right now!

1gb extra + national unlimited calling. On top of the $120/90 day, 12gb, provincial calling promo.

I might get it for the sake of the tab $0 phones. Any good phones for cheap? (currently on the s7 edge).

Also how does this affect the lifetime $120/90 day plan from Public mobile? Will it still be life time or will the terms be considered changed?

I think you might be misinterpreting the offer, they're giving you a chance to switch to a Koodo plan that has 1 more GB and and costs 10 dollars more. You would be giving up your PM plan.

I bet they won't send it to those of us who are on the $40/4G plan from last black friday.

Edit: I got the text offer on September 8-2017

I'm on $120/90 day plan, however I'm only paying $81+tax for 3 months. Probably will be staying with PM but chances are I'm losing some referrals.

Nice deal though.

From RFD:
Self-propelled gas mower for $120 - Sears;
2-stage snowblower for $399 - Lowes;
12GB LTE 90 days unlimited plan for $120 - Public Mobile;
3GB LTE data monthly plan for $15 - Fido.
More to come for sure...

anyone know if this is available to new customers? went onto their website and couldn't even find a 5GB plan.
In the text it says you have to go in person for the plan.

Public mobile plans get cheaper the longer you are with them because of their loyalty program, I would reconsider for those hopping on to koodo and also if you use like 2gb one month you have 10gb leftover for the next month. Advantages over Koodo.

How is Koodo compared to Public? My workplace provides a discount on Koodo that actually makes it a few dollars cheaper a month, so its a no brainer for me to switch. I know it's the same Telus network, anything else I need to know?
