I noticed that Virgin Mobile in Quebec is offering this same plan, except the 6+2 (8gb) is permanent and not just a 2 year promo. I wonder if Koodo would match this and let you keep the full 8gb forever baring a plan change?? Has anyone tired to get this deal with Koodo (8gb permanent)? Virgin also has a $56 plan with 10gb.

Go to Virgin Mobile. Better customer service and features like VoLTE, VoWi-Fi.

Ok so I'm going to use my original Ontario number from my original line and change it over to line 2 with this plan. I have referred myself from my wife's account so just wondering at which point should I finish the referral process? After I am finished with the port from my existing line 1 -> to pre paid -> to line 2?

Now they should offer Easy Roam as well. Their travel feature is unusable with 100MB of data.

Yes this is exactly my issue. When I change over to the proper plan on Monday and call them to add the extra 2gb I guess it doesn't hurt to ask if I can keep it permanently (I will reference Virgin's plan). Once done I will report back.

1) Go to Koodo choose the $55 plan which gets you the 2GB promo
2) Change to QC # via self-serve
3) Change to $49 6GB plan (2GB promo will still be there because its an add-on)
4) Wait for next billing cycle and port your desired # via self-serve

No need to get prepaid sim unless you need to port out your koodo postpaid # out and no need to call support for 2GB bonus.
guys, I'm currently at step 2. But when I signed in from the old portal, it gives me an error saying "Your phone number is in the process of being transferred - it is not possible to change your phone number at this time.". Anyone knows why this happens and how to fix it? Thanks a lot.

So it doesn't even give you the option? Perhaps try signing in normally and then go to the old portal through Track your repair. Hope this helps.

Looks like you ported you old number when first signing up. Per instruction says you must get a new number first.

I told them I have an exisitng phone # but I didn't port. I say I will do it myself. Is it possible that koodo closed the loophole?

Yikes, that's not good news =/

I was planning on doing this over this weekend.

Are you certain they didn't port over your old number? Can you test both your old sim card and the new one you got to see if you can make calls?
