No. PM has data boosters just like Koodo.

Good to know I have options when my couple of years worth of minutes / data with Koodo runs out.

If I switch my plan and have a booster, do I still keep those boosters? And I assume if you have a booster, it will use the monthly plan data first, and then only if you go over 250mb it will use booster?

Referral program doesn't apply to prepaid, unfortunately.

From Koodo's referral program Ts and Cs:

"Both you and your referrals must have an active, non-suspended consumer postpaid account in good standing – the program is not available to prepaid customers."

I am a current Public Mobile customer and Koodo customer.

I finally switched over yesterday.

Has anyone looked at Koodos usage calculation closely?

I checked last night and in the overall usage page, it said I used 5MB (out of 250) for my period, which just started yesterday.

But in the daily usage history it says I only used 1 MB yesterday (which was for an SMS pic). My phone says I used less than 1 MB.

The 250 could end quickly if it counts sms pics and/or if it cheats you everyday.

I switched my plan at 1am on the 14th. Right after the change, I noticed the loss of about 5MB as shown on the booster usage page. During the whole time, my cell data usage was turned off so I wondered if this free 250MB is just a gimmick if a "leakage" would claw it all back. However, I just checked the booster balance again this morning (2 days after the change and data is off all the time) and now it shows a usage of only 0.01MB, so it works out OK.

Cool thanks for the reply, I was thinking the same thing.
Mine just had about 5MB subtracted as well.
Looks accurate now.

It automatically adds on around 5 MB when your data as a safety net for Koodo. They don't want you to go over the 250 MB. Put your phone in airplane mode and you'll see the usage go down. It's been like this for years.

I just upgraded from the old $15 base to the new with the 250mb. It charged me right away and kept the remainder of my talk booster. I use it for dealing with people from kijiji ads and other online buying and selling. Good deal. But the Public Mobile $15 plan is better because of the 100 minute talk included.
