[Koodo] Prepaid $15 100 min & Unlimited Texting & 10% off

For a limited time, get a free 100 minute Canada-wide Talk Booster add-on9 when you register your credit card or Visa Debit card on your Koodo Prepaid Self Serve account.
Activate Koodo Prepaid today at activateprepaid.koodomobile.com and get $20 in account credits. How this works: you’ll get a $5 credit at activation and three more $5 credits after that each time you renew your base plan for a total of $2011
For hassle-free top-ups, register for automatic 30-day top-ups by logging into your Self Serve account. The 10% savings on your monthly base plan will be credited back to your account each time your base plan renews for another 30 days, and every 30 days after that, as long as you keep automatic top-ups on your account.
Better than the Petro Canada deal imho

In order to get this deal, we'd have to buy a sim for 20$ first?

This is the standard offer

It's also not 10% off but back in credits. This can be used for add ons.

Are there any other offers similar to the above? (Not necessarily from koodo) Perhaps with more minutes but around the same price range?

Note that the 100 min booster add-on is 100 minutes total. You don't get 100 min each month.

When you use it up, you have to buy another voice add-on to get more. However, the good thing about their add-ons is they don't expire as long as your account is in good standing

I'm pretty sure the credit can be used for more than just add ons. ie. it can be used to pay the monthly plan fee.

This is true. To use it for the monthly fee, you have to turn off the monthly top-up over the renewal date so it uses your balance, then re-start it after the renewal date.
100 minutes is worth $5-10 (depending on what booster you'd normally buy)

If you register your credit card, can you still add airtime, and use that airtime instead of having your credit card charged? The goal is the get the 10% off, but also be able to buy the airtime in Alberta at a reduced tax rate.
