Have a question I think is related.

So I sold my public plan to someone out of province a while back. They ported their number to that account and my phone number is gone.

I tried my old number on the Koodo site for the hell of it and it’s eligble for the plan.

Now if I proceeded with the conversion would the person who bought my PM plan have their account closed?
Yes but chances are they changed PIN number.

To those who are still anxiously waiting for SIM card here is what I did to keep the original $100 referral credit FROM my friend LAST WEEK.

1. Called Koodo give them my name, my order number to get the account number, make note of the account #. Was told that account is in pending state coz SIM card still not processed, it’s okay.
2. Go in store (Best Buy), ask them to add ANOTHER line onto my EXISTING Koodo account; port public mobile # over by using the promo code.
3. If you want peace of mind call Koodo to confirm your plan and your $100 bill credit.
4. Registered to self serve then start generating referral $25 link for friends and families.
As soon as I’m done all that I finally got the shipping email that I’ve been waiting for days, this is life!
5. Wait for the first SIM card (ordered last week) to arrive. Then initiate the refund process by mail to get the SIM card refund.

Reason I went to best buy other than Koodo store is that they offered free SIM card plus $25GC (no tab).

This way I gotta keep my original $100 referral plus free SIM card plus $25GC

You missed the $150 bill credit. Just finished yesterday.
Or at least you could get $50 bill credit or so if only order sim, and buy phone after account is set up.

So you pay $145 up front + $360 tab - $400 credits = $105 for the phone?

Can we still do this if we have already signed up online and waiting for sim card?

Hey, Folks, a couple of quesions wrt 6GB/$40 plan and Koodo in general:

- is unlimited texting US/CAN only or International?

- are incoming calls always free regardless where are u (in Canada)?

- Can one block international LD calls (including US?). On the Koodo help web site it says something weird, that you can block international LD in self-serve, but this does NOT block US calls. Which are $0.5/min, btw. Ripoff! Do not want to be charged for accidental butt-dialing or something like it...

Together with expensive roaming, there are certainly certain downsides of this Koodo plan. Am I getting cold feet? :)
You can block international calls with the exception of calls to the US and Caribbean.

"Add the promo code to your cart and the plan as well as a $100 bill credit will be added to your account."

Where do I see that $100 has been added to my account?
You'll see it once you get your first bill, depending on your billing cycle. I just got my first bill and the $100 credit was added to my account. I had $12 worth of pro-rated charges and then the full bill charge ($40+tax) - $100, so my new balance owing is currently -$43.xx.

His PM account should not be affected because you're not porting his number over. You would be either keeping the # Koodo assigns to you, or porting some other # over.

And don’t be confused. That price is correct at 50 cents/min, not 5. I’ve asked Koodo and they are not willing to turn off access to calling the US. I can understand why as it’s a big money maker for them I’m sure. This is one of several reasons why I haven’t migrated my family’s plans from PM. Koodo says they’re not able to restrict the access. Of course we PM users know they’re fully capable of doing it. I don’t blame them for their policies. They’re going to make their money one way or another. Plans would be costlier if they didn’t make money on overages, LD, etc. Unfortunately I can’t trust my users to not make a mistake and use Koodo at 50 cents instead of the $0.00 or $0.02 options I’ve taught them.

There is no way to have applied 2 promos? I had the $10 off per month SPC one, but they told me at the Kiosk I could only use one promo such as the 6 GB for $40. Thanks!
