Yea Huawei update is certainly slower, but it works. My Essential phone is riddled with bugs after each update. The memory leak on it was so bad, I had to roll back to Oreo. And all the "well known" Essential bugs became more prevalent too like ghost touch, phantom touch, reception etc. Such a flawed design in an otherwise beautiful exterior.
Essential owners coming out of the woodwork, myself included. I love its performance but reliability just isn't there. Phantom touch, reception and awful camera does it in for me and I've tried everything to rectify those issues, including RMA.

For those in the same boat, I ran into Best Buy a couple weeks ago after missing the iphone 8 offer, and a rep mentioned there is a friends and family event happening in the first weekend of March (maybe?) and that the deals will be similar to boxing day. Take that with a grain of salt but could be some nice GC incentives to help pay off your essential/tab balance

That is the S10 coming out. Everything will drop like apples.

I see lot of apple Fangirls switching for S10.

Too bad the S10 doesn't have night vision cam, does p20 has and is p20 pro ip 68?

Yeah, I hope the politics enveloping Huawei makes them change their mind, to convince them to open up their boot loaders again.

I already have a LG G6, which is "good enough" So my next phone has to be better, which for me is the cameras, battery life, that the P20 offers. What keeps me away is the horrid software, wireless charging, and lack of headphone jack. A quick release battery, which no one offers, (LG G5 was as close as I ever saw, awful though), would send me over the moon.
I couldn't imagine having a phone without a headphone jack. I was actually surprised that people were buying phones without the jack. Well...I gave it at try and I am seriously not dissappointed. The phone comes with an adapter which is really small and light weight and not bulky at all. Also, the phone comes with headphones and usb-c connector....ie it plugs directly into the phone. So you have the option of using those directly to the phone or use your own with the adapter.

One of the best cameras out there. Great phone. My guess is user error.
I second that. Camera is incredible. There's a reason why it has DxOMark’s highest score.

so to port the number out without calling, what is the cheapest option?

Bell or virgin pre paid sim and how much does it costs?

Sim and wait for ebay shipping + activation fees + plan?

I am going to say no. I do realize that nobody has a functional time machine. You cannot overlook the fact that the P20 pro went for about the same price all of a week ago when you factor in the need to pay $35 activation fee with Walmart. During boxing week, the P20 was $0 up front, medium tab, $250 in PCO points at TMS. This is tech gear, prices trend downwards.

Camera is a beast on this. I got it few days ago for $310, except for camera everything is Okish. But for 310 I would buy it again.
Existence is pain.
