As titled, La Crosse Technology BC500 $26.34 at amazon.ca
link: http://www.amazon.ca/La-Crosse-Techn.../dp/B0031ERMO4
it is marketed as a simpler version of BC900/1000 and it's prefect for me as I can see myself spending more than $50 on a battery charger
It qualifies for the free shipping and the reviews (check out amazon.com) are pretty good.
edit: Price change $26.34, still pretty decent

I don't know about others, but could you put WHAT the item is in the title? I doubt many here would know that BC500 is a battery charger.

Thanks, been looking for a deal on one of these for a while. These will apparently do a much better job charging your eneloops, they'll last much longer.

I have a BC900 for quite a few years now, and the discharge/refresh cycle is awesome.. Revived many old cells with it..
The Lacross chargers are awesome. Since I got it, I have never had a cell die or drop significantly in amount of power it can hold. Most of my cells are Duraloops, and they all work as good as they did when I first bought them (>5yrs).
The BC500 is a dumbed down version of the BC700 which is a Dumbed down version of the BC900, but they are still solid chargers, with a great track record.
I'll never go back to the old dumb timer based crappy chargers. Only chargers I'll use are LaCrosse or Maha.. Well worth thier money.

It's worth noting that the $25.61 price is the lowest price point on Amazon.ca in the last 8 months. The highest price point was $44.95

I had the same experience with a intelligent NIMH charger from deal extreme. It charges reach battery individually and its been able to restore every near dead battery. Build quality kinda sucks but I think I only paid $18. This lacrosse charger is a great deal. Idk if I would buy it though. (Kinda low on budget)
