They not even allowed to have their own clauses in the lease?

im not sure about that. i think it's a standardized format across the board.. but ultimately you can add/subtract additional items that fit your situation.

This is still just a proposal is it not? While we can assume with a majority government the actual terms of the standard lease are probably only being developed now.

For you guy's sake, I hope Ontario doesn't follow Quebec here. It has been a disaster for landlords since we've had this forever. The form is VERY tenant-oriented and makes it impossible to add or subtract any special clauses

That's crazy. If it ever happens in BC, there will be one less suite for rent real quick.
If i can't have some control over my rental suite, it's not for rent.
